Brilliant news for anybody who has ever been a fan of the little blue engine, Thomas and Friends™ are coming to visit the East Lancashire Railway again in 2012. Last years events were hugely popular so make sure you put the following weekends in your calendar, Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends Ramsbottom 2012 Dates:

The event opens at 9am and closes 4.30pm. Grand opening ceremony by the Fat Controller at 9.45am daily.
There will be loads of fun interactive activities for you to get involved in including:
- A ride with Thomas™ up and down his own branch line
- Meet the Fat Controller as he makes sure Thomas is on his best behaviour
- Watch the Troublesome Trucks causing trouble with the engines
- Daily Opening Ceremony to welcome Thomas
- Entry to the Imagination Station featuring storytelling, colouring and drawing, face-painting, Thomas film screenings, games and much more
- Temporary Thomas tattoos
- Circus workshop, Magic Shows and Punch & Judy
- Your own Sticker and Junior Engineer Certificate
- A free Mega Bloks™ gift
- Entry to the Bury Transport Museum including a pottery workshop
- Doctor Doolally and his talking Toucan
All of the attractions and rides are covered by your admission ticket, so you have no excuse not to get involved.
This is a family day out that really should not be missed so make sure you come down to see Thomas and his friends at the East Lancashire Railway.
Day Out with Thomas is a full day event so please arrive before lunchtime and allow at least 4 hours for your visit.

How to Book?
Ticket Prices
Adult: £15
Child: £7
Family Ticket: £37.00
Avoid the queues and book your tickets in advance. Online booking is available from QuayTickets. Please note that a booking and postage fee may apply.
Tickets can also be purchased on the day of travel but pre-booking is highly recommended.
Payment may be made by cash or most credit and debit cards. We no longer accept cheques. No concessionary fares or platform tickets available during the event.

How to get here?
Mums, dads and grandparents will have easy access to the event with FREE parking facilities adjacent to the ELR station in Bury, Heywood, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall (for Thomas customers only).
Park & Ride is available at Heywood, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall.
Regular services between Rawtenstall and Heywood operate throughout the event and travel is included in your event ticket.
Alternatively, why not leave the car at home and travel by public transport? The East Lancashire Railway is in the heart of Bury, easily accessible by all forms of transport with Bury Interchange only a five minute walk away. Blue badge parking is available at Bury Transport Museum.
Access & Facilities
All stations are fully accessible for visitors in wheelchairs. There are toilet facilities at Bury, Heywood, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall and baby changing facilities on Platform 2 in Bury and at Ramsbottom.

Whether you are in a hurry to catch the next ride with Thomas or want to enjoy a break with the family, we will have it all wrapped up on the day.
The Trackside in Bury is a favourite with young families offering freshly prepared home-made food and an extended kids menu, in addition, the Buffet on Platform 3/4 in Bury offers a wide range of sandwiches and drinks.
